Last week the Missouri House approved a proposal to designate Jan. 12 as Rush Limbaugh Day.

The iconic conservative talk show host and southeast Missouri native died this year.

Limbaugh is considered a hero by many Republicans for elevating the profile of conservative media. But he is also widely disliked, with detractors saying his fiery rhetoric has contributed to a raucous political climate where disinformation circulates widely.
