Tracking rain chances to dodge closing out the week

TERRIFIC START

FRIDAY: We’ll get off to a crystal-clear start this morning! All of that sunshine will get the ball rolling in the right direction, pushing temperatures into the low 70’s. Clouds will return by this afternoon, with a chance of a shower by the late afternoon hours.

TONIGHT: That chance of rain sticks around overnight. Lows will fall to near 50.

EXTENDED: A warm front will continue to lift through the area, and is looking like it will make enough progress to cut off the showers temporarily Saturday. Most of the afternoon and evening is looking to cooperate with any outdoor plans. Storms will fire out west and head this direction Saturday night. Without lingering showers stabilizing the air over us during the day, that cluster of storms could hold together overnight. If that’s the case, strong winds could accompany them as they move in after midnight early Sunday morning. Any lingering showers should move out by the afternoon on Mother’s Day. That dry weather looks to hold through Tuesday, but we’ll be a bit cooler with highs in the low 60’s. Our next chance for rain moves in Tuesday night into Wednesday.
