Gary Pinkel named Coach of the Year semifinalist

Missouri football coach Gary Pinkel is a national coach of the year semifinalist. Pinkel is one of 16 semifinalists for the Maxwell Football Club Collegiate’s Coach of the Year honor.

Mizzou is 9-1 on the year, and a No. 8 ranking in the latest BCS standings. The team was 5-7 in 2012, and this season’s turn around is getting national attention. His team is searching for its first conference division title since 2010, when the Tigers won the Big 12 North.

The winner of the award will be announced December 17th.
