A Missouri hockey player ending his 17 year career as a Tiger

“This is my last year so I’m just trying to soak it up.”

Danny Walsh is from Minnesota, a state where hockey is like a religion.

Now, he is finishing his 17 year career at Mizzou.

“I chose Mizzou for journalism, the opportunity for hockey was just there. I’ve loved every minute of it, like I said the best part about it is being on a team and getting to compete, you know as long as I can,” said Walsh.

It has become a way of life for him.

Since the age of three, Walsh has been lacing up his skates and taking the ice.

“I love the game. definitely, i watch it, i think about it, love playing it,” Walsh said.

Saturday Walsh had another chance to be in rink.

Waldorf College would end up beating the tigers 8 to 4, but Walsh put his many years of experience to the test scoring 2 goals.

“People are surprised when they come out to a game and see that we have junior a kids, triple a kids – just the level of player playing club hockey is very high,” said John Lamond.

Walsh hopes to pass down his talent and coach in his home state.

Mizzou hockey has won the last nine of ten games outscoring their opponents 82-35.
