Pedestrian struck, seriously injured near Fayette

A Fayette man sustained serious injuries after he was hit by a car Thursday night.

Edward Long, 33, was struck by a car as he was walking on Route FF around 10:20 p.m., according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

He was taken by helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia with serious injuries.

Troopers say Amanda Belt, 34, of Fayette, was driving westbound on Route FF when she crested a hill and hit Long.
