Cole County deputies serve dual purpose on Halloween

Thursday night, Cole County deputies Lyle Rosburg and Bruce Weyenberg spent Halloween checking on registered sex offenders.

ABC 17 News rode along with deputies in west Jefferson City as they were making sure offenders were compliant with state law.

On Halloween, offenders are required to avoid all contact with children, remain inside their residence between 5:00- 10:30 p.m, post a sign on their front-door stating, “No candy,” and leave all outside lighting off after 5 p.m.

Out of 26 offenders who got a visit, only one was non-compliant.
