Convicted rapist on the run from authorities

A convicted sexual offender is on the run Tuesday after authorities discovered he removed his GPS bracelet.

The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office said they recovered Timothy Register’s court-ordered GPS in Eldon on Sunday, Oct. 13. When deputies searched his home near Sunrise Beach, they found a letter from Register stating he would not go back to prison.

Back in July, Register was convicted of first-degree statutory sodomy, first-degree statutory rape, and two counts of first-degree child molestation.

Register was supposed to be sentenced on Thursday.

Authorities say Register should be considered dangerous.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call law enforcement immediately.

On Wednesday, the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office released additional information about Register. He is 5 feet 6 inches tall, 145 lbs., with short grey hair, blue eyes, a medium-brown complexion and slim build.

He has four tattoos, including clowns on his upper back and right arm, and a skull on his chest. Photos of the tattoos are available here.
