Boonville man arrested in connection to chase and crash that started with attempted warrant arrest in Cooper County
COOPER COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Cooper County Sheriff's Department has released more information after a Monday chase and crash off Interstate 70 that led to an hour-long standoff.
Officials report Maurice Robinson was wanted on a Pulaski County warrant and a Probation and Parole warrant after Boonville police attempted to stop a stolen vehicle near mile marker 111.
Officials say Robinson drove away from the stop when police tried to arrest him. Robinson then crashed on the ramp of exit 111 overturned multiple times and before rolling into a ditch.
Patrol Cpl. Kyle Green, Robinson refused to get out of the vehicle and was armed.
Robinson was taken into custody after getting out of the vehicle willingly after about an hour.
The Pulaski County warrant was for failure to appear-assault-special victim 2nd. The Probation and Parole warrant for parole absconder-dangerous drugs. No bond was set for either charge.
Robinson remains in custody on these matters at the Cooper County Detention Center.
