One person dead, one seriously injured after Monday morning wreck in Saline County

SALINE COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is reporting one person is dead in a one-vehicle wreck Monday morning on Highway 240 east of Marigold Avenue and the driver is seriously injured.

According to the online crash report, Donnita Friend, 63, of Slater, was driving on the road when she overcorrected after driving off the roadway.

The vehicle skidded then crossed the center of the road before hitting a ditch and overturning.

James Friend, 61, of Slater, was the passenger and was ejected from the vehicle according to the report.

Donnita Friend was life flighted to University Hospital for care.

This is the 23rd fatal crash this year for Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop A and the 25th death.
