Woman hit by car north of Columbia
Emergency crews and deputies were called to a home Sunday night after a woman was hit by a car in Boone County.
The first reports of the accident came in around 9:40 p.m. Authorities say it happened on private property at 7850 O Neal Road, about 25 minutes north of Columbia off Highway VV.
Firefighters and troopers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol were also called to the scene.
An ambulance from University Hospital transported the woman, but the cause or condition of her injuries is unknown.
Around 2:40 a.m., 52-year-old John W. Phillippe was arrested by Boone County Sheriff’s deputies at the same location for second-degree assault and driving while intoxicated. However, it’s unknown if the two incidents are related.
