Columbia Public Schools launches “Jump Start” program

Columbia Public Schools began the 2013-2014 school year one day early with the launch of the district’s first “Jump Start” day.

From morning through early afternoon, middle and high school students were able to get adjusted to their new start times and bus times.

Students were also able to figure out how their schools were set up, since many students are headed to new buildings due to the change to the middle school system. CPS officials eliminated the junior high level.

Attendance was not taken and the “Jump Start” day was only a half-day.

Columbia Public Schools officially begin classes Tuesday.
