Police find missing Missouri teen and suspected kidnapper

Police have located a missing Missouri teen and the man suspected of kidnapping her Thursday.

According to affiliate KMBC-TV, police in Kansas City, Kan. said they found Bailey Ann Summers and Elijah Pike.

The Missouri Highway Patrol and the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office had issued an endangered person advisory for the 15-year-old girl on Thursday.

Harrison County Sheriff Josh Eckerson said Friday Kansas authorities became involved in the search because McPike’s cellphone signal was located late Thursday in Edwardsville, Kan.

Law enforcement had thought the pair were in a silver 2000 Dodge Ram extended cab pickup. Police located the truck at North 83rd Terrace and Haskell Avenue in Kansas City, Kan., Friday evening.

They located Summers and 23-year-old McPike shortly after that.

Summers left her home in Gilman City on Thursday afternoon. Investigators said she was with McPike, who has been known to be violent and suicidal. Summers has a protection order against McPike.

McPike was charged Friday with kidnapping and violating a protection order, according to the Harrison County prosecutor’s office.
