Jefferson City High School sports complex plans moving forward

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Plans for a Jefferson City High School sports complex are moving forward.

The Jefferson City Board of Adjustment just gave initial approval for the conditional use permit for the complex.

If given final approval the complex will house a soccer field and baseball diamond on 800 acres of land.

Other plans for the area include:

  • Construction of baseball/softball field with dugouts, bullpens, batting cages, and bleachers;
  • Construction of press box, concessions, restrooms, and storage facilities for use between fields;

It would be between Stadium Boulevard and Oberman Place just northwest of the high school's campus.

The timeline for the construction for the project is estimated to be May 2021 with fields playable during the fall 2021 season. Some amenities (bathrooms, locker rooms) may not be fully completed by the start of the 2021-2022 school year.
