More than 25,000 pornographic images found on computer

A Columbia man was arrested Monday after investigators found thousands of pornographic images, including child pornography, on his computer.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Department arrested 67-year-old John S. Littell for possessing child pornography.

According to investigators, the Columbia Police Department was contacted by a computer repair business on June 22. Employees at the business found child porn on Littell’s computer after he brought it in for repairs.

CPD then forwarded the case to the Boone County Sheriff’s Department Cyber Crimes Task Force, where investigators found more than 25,000 pornographic images on the computer. Some of the images show children as young as 8-years-old.

When law enforcement searched the suspect’s home, they found a new computer that had additional child porn images.

Boone County prosecutors charged Littell with felony possession of child pornography.

Littell is being held in the Boone County Jail on a $40,000 bond.
