Two killed in motorcycle vs. car crash

Two people are dead following a motorcycle versus car crash in Miller County Sunday afternoon.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred around 4:20 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 54 and Route AA.

Troopers say an SUV driven by Elva Farris, 77, of Olean, Mo. was crossing the eastbound lanes of Highway 54 when she failed to yield to oncoming traffic.

A motorcycle carrying Christopher and Cynthia Vanhoozen, both of Memphis, Mo., crashed into the side of Farris’ vehicle.

The couple were thrown from the motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene.
