Boone County Sheriff’s deputies arrest woman during drug bust

The Boone County Sheriff’s Department arrested a Columbia woman while serving a search warrant within city limits.

According to Sgt. Britt Shea, deputies searched a home in the 400 block of W. Texas Avenue Tuesday afternoon after learning meth was being sold at the home. An investigation also showed several drug users with outstanding arrest warrants visited the home.

Inside the house, deputies found a small quantity of meth and drug paraphernalia including packaging material and a digital scale.

Deputies arrested 29-year-old Shannon M. Jones for five outstanding arrest warrants, including numerous warrants for failure to appear and a stealing warrant.

Jones’ bond was set at $21,000. As of Tuesday evening, Jones was being held in the Boone County Jail.
