Jefferson City fire engine tips over after being cut off by truck

A Jefferson City fire truck crashed Monday afternoon after being cut off by a pickup truck.

Jefferson City Fire Chief Jason Turner said crews were conducting driver’s training on Schumate Chapel Road when a pickup truck towing a trailer cut off the fire engine.

Turner said the fire truck almost fell off the road and now three large tow trucks will be used to lift the engine up onto the road.

Turner told ABC 17 News the fire engine is damaged, but there were no injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck reportedly left the scene of the accident.
