Boone Co. sets new record in drug take-back event
Hundred of pills were collected in Boone County during this weekend’s prescription drug take-back event.
Between the eight different collection sites in Boone County 648.4 pounds of prescription drugs were collected.
The goal of the event is to get old and unwanted prescription drugs out of the hands of those who might abuse them.
This year’s take back exceeded past events’ largest collection by 139 pounds.
The pills will now be turned over to the DEA for proper disposal.
