Local cops make major drug bust

After a month-long investigation, Boone County Sheriff’s Deputies served four separate search warrants Friday, for drugs at various locations in Columbia and Boone County.

Authorities searched a motel room in northwest Columbia, homes on Beechwood Drive, and Bethany Drive, and an automobile.

Officers seized approximately 650 grams of cocaine, 38 pounds of marijuana, a handgun, and approximately $16,500 in cash. Authorities say all of these items were tied to the same suspect.

Cops arrested Joseph Roland, 30, of Columbia, who now faces charges of first degree trafficking drugs, distribution of a controlled substance, felon in possession of a firearm, and failure to register as a sex offender.

Roland’s bond has yet to be set by a Judge.
