Former jail official charged with forgery

A former Randolph County official is charged with felony forgery for allegedly altering jail records.

According to a probable cause statement, Former Randolph County Detention Administrator Steven Holman forged jail records for a relative, who was supposed to serve a 48-hour sentence.

The Missouri Attorney General’s Office said Holman gave the relative preferential treatment and allowed the relative to leave before serving the full sentence.

A deputy with the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office said Holman later admitted to forging the records.

Randolph County Sheriff Mark Nichols said Holman served in the position for about seven years.
