Cardinals win off the arm of Adam Wainwright

Perhaps if the Cy Young Award we’re to be given out today, Adam Wainwright would be in the running off of the great start he’s having.

Wainwright came within two outs of his second shutout, leading the St. Louis Cardinals past the Nationals 2-0 Tuesday night. Waino gave up his first walk of the season to Bryce Harper.

With Tuesday’s outing Wainwright lowered his ERA to 1.93. Edward Mujica got the final two outs for his third save.

Allen Craig and Carlos Beltran drove in runs in the fourth off Nationals lefty Ross Detwiler (1-1), who gave up eight hits across six innings.
