Man arrested for swinging machete

Boone County deputies arrested a man Sunday night for swinging a machete in what they called a “threatening” manner.

Authorities were called to a disturbance on Old Plank Road at around 9 p.m. When they got there, Jones had already run away. People at the home weren’t hurt, but told deputies they felt threatened. They say Jones pushed a family member to the ground as well.

Deputies used a K-9 unit to find Jones, who they say was hiding in a wooded area behind the home. They arrested Jones for unlawful use of a weapon, assault, and domestic assault. His bond at the jail was set at $19,000.
