Tigers rest Thomas, lose to LSU
The No. 12 Mizzou softball team dropped a five-inning, 8-0 result at No. 11 LSU Saturday.
The Tigers mustered just two hits in the game, and were hampered by five fielding errors.
Head coach Ehren Earleywine decided to rest his ace pitcher Chelsea Thomas for this game so she could be fresh for Sunday’s series-deciding finale.
Senior Nicole Hudson made the start for Mizzou Saturday, her fourth of the season. She allowed eight hits and three earned runs in the outing, striking out three LSU batters. LSU’s Ashley Czechner, on the other hand, allowed two hits and issued one walk to run her record to 9-0 on the season.
Mizzou moved to 25-7 overall and 10-6 in Southeastern Conference play, while LSU improved to 37-10, 12-5 in the SEC with the win.
