Road reopens near the Lake of the Ozarks after sinkhole
A road has reopened near the Lake of the Ozarks after closing for a sinkhole. It was on Valley Road between Station Drive and School Road.
Public Works Director Matt Michalik told ABC 17 News another portion of the road was also in danger of caving in. The asphalt did not collapse, but the earth underneath it washed away.
It started widening last weekend, and workers were trying to fix it by Friday.
Michalik says it is critical that the city fix the damage because the strip is going to close down in about a month for the Magic Dragon car show, and Valley Road serves as the main detour.
Businesses stayed open during the closure.
