Busch Stadium gears up for fans’ return to baseball

ST. LOUIS, Mo (KMIZ)

The St. Louis Cardinals will welcome fans back to Busch Stadium on April 8, as the Red Birds takes on the Milwaukee Brewers.

It will be the first time in more than 500 days that fans have been in the seats at Busch. In 2020, Major League Baseball said no fans could attend games due to COVID-19.

However, the Cardinals organization, the local health department, and government officials gave the go ahead for fans in the 2021 season.

Due to ongoing COVID-19 concerns, Busch Stadium will operate at about 32 percent capacity, which allows about 14,500 fans in a game.

In addition to required masks, social distancing, and constant cleaning, the ball park put a slew of precautions in place, including:

  • mobile ticketing
  • cashless transactions
  • designated entry gates
  • no bags permitted
  • staff health screenings
  • no vendors
  • reduced food and beverage menus

The organization said, overall, it is hoping to provide fans with a safe, but recognizable game day experience.
