Homes Hit by Bullets in Columbia
*** UPDATE Saturday 6:21 P.M. *** Police still do not have a suspect description Saturday evening. They are in the process of getting their criminal division to look further into the investigation. A back windshield of a black SUV was shattered, with glass shards still visible on the ground Saturday morning. A gray/silver sedan also had two bullet holes to the passenger side of the car. The window that was shot out is boarded up. ***ORIGINAL STORY***Columbia police are investigating a shots fired incident that happened Friday evening around 8:05 p.m. Officers say someone fired shots into homes at Columbia Square Town Homes on Claudell Lane near Worley Street.Witnesses say they heard people arguing in the parking lot right before they heard about five-to-six gunshots. Police confirmed that three residences were hit by bullets, along with three parked vehicles. No injuries were reported Friday night. At one point, five police vehicles were on scene along with a K-9 unit. Police went door-to-door to talk to people who live in the townhomes and check their homes for damage. One window by a front door was shattered and police recovered several shell casings. According to Sgt. Don Hawkins, law enforcement does not have any suspect descriptions at this time. However, several witnesses reported seeing people running away from the parking lot where the gunfire was believed to have originated.
