Tracking a mostly clear weekend
TODAY: Many of us will see clear skies and a breeze with highs reaching the 70s this afternoon. A disturbance will slide by to the north in the morning that could bring showers but conditions will clear by the early afternoon.
THIS EVENING: Unfortunately this warmth is gearing up ahead of a front moving through the SE that could bring severe storms in the late afternoon. Main threats will be heavy rain and hail, but if conditions are just right we could potentially see a spin-up tornado. This threat should stay along and south of the I44 corridor; however, storms could be widespread if the front moves more north.
EXTENDED: Cooler air will follow these storms when they clear out overnight. We're back into the low 60s tomorrow but warm air will be quick to move back in. Highs are tracking to the mid-60s throughout the week, with another chance for rain late Wednesday.
