Jared Merideth arrested after home break-in
A man is out of jail allegedly broke into a Columbia home but was stopped by the residents inside Friday night.
Police said Jared Merideth was held down until Columbia police got to the home in the 1700 block of Stanford Drive just after 11 p.m. Friday night.
One person was inside the home and asleep at the time, but others saw Merideth trying to get in.
The residents said they knew Merideth. Police also found marijuana in his car that was parked a block away.
