Man killed in Callaway County crash

A Holts Summit man was killed in a single-car crash in Callaway County Wednesday afternoon.

Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers say 23-year-old Brandon Higgins was driving on County Road 4037 just north of Highway 94 when he went around a curve too fast.

Troopers say he lost control of his vehicle and left the roadway, causing the car to roll several times. According to the Highway Patrol report, Higgins was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from his vehicle.

Higgins was taken by helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia, where he was pronounced dead.
