Tracking warmer temperatures, late-day sunshine on Friday

TONIGHT: Rain exits after 7-8PM with mostly cloudy skies expected overnight into Friday morning. Lows in the low 40s.

TOMORROW: Decreasing clouds with late day sunshine expected. Highs in the low 60s.

EXTENDED: Spotty showers are more likely late Friday night for areas north of Highway 36. Saturday is warm and breezy during the day as temperatures soar into the upper 60s to around 70 before a cold front works its way east. That front could trigger a few showers or storms for areas east of Highway 54 toward evening. The severe weather threat currently is off to our east with the more favorable environment across eastern Missouri and southern Illinois. Temperatures fall off about 10 degrees for Sunday as winds shift back to the northwest. We end the weekend with plenty of sunshine and start off next week quite nice with temperatures in the mid-60s. Rain and potentially a few storms are possible by Tuesday night into Wednesday as our next front arrives, and we should cool down below-average behind that system.
