Tracking more rain on the way today

rain off and on

THURSDAY: Rain is on the way back this morning. Some scattered showers will be possible early on this morning, but more of us will get in on the action after 8-9 AM. Rain will be with us for most of the day, with a few rumbles of thunder possible at times. Not expecting the severe weather to make it this far north. Highs will top out in the low 50’s.

TONIGHT: Rain departs by 10 PM leaving us mostly cloudy overnight. It’ll be pretty chilly by the time we wake up tomorrow, with lows near 40 and a breeze out of the north.

EXTENDED: After that chilly start, we get some sunshine to help us out tomorrow, getting highs into the low 60’s. We’re tracking a disturbance that looks to be move just to our north overnight into Saturday morning. It’s a warm front lifting through and will guide some showers and storms along the Missouri-Iowa border. It will deliver on the warmer air promise, with highs on Saturday pushing into the low 70’s with sunny skies to enjoy. A cold front puts an end to that late on Saturday but is expected to pass through dry. That knocks highs closer to 60 on Sunday and Monday but should stay quiet. Rain chances return late Monday night and Wednesday next week.
