Man Orders Sandwich, Robs Subway

An armed suspect who robbed a Subway Restaurant in Columbia Saturday afternoon is on the loose. Columbia Police said in a press release that the man walked into the sandwich shop in Crossroads Shopping Center on 2102 W. Broadway and showed a handgun after ordering a sandwich. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register and left without making a scene.Some customers inside the restaurant at the time of the crime were unaware a robbery had taken place, according to the release. The suspect is described as a white man, about 5’4″, 150 lbs. with scruffy facial hair and brown eyes. He was last seen heading northbound from the restaurant, wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt.
