Tracking more rain and cool temperatures Thursday

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy with rain moving in before dawn. Winds shift from southwest to northeast with lows falling into the low 40s.

TOMORROW: Steady showers early, followed by scattered showers in the afternoon. Rain amounts between 0.25" and 0.5". Highs in the lower 50s.

EXTENDED: Showers exit Thursday night, leaving us dry to end the week on Friday. Temperatures rebound back to around 60 degrees with a bit more sunshine. A weak disturbance sliding by to our north late Friday into Saturday morning could bring a few showers to areas north of I-70 through late Saturday morning. South winds push temperatures into the upper 60s to around 70 on Saturday, with a chance for a few evening showers for the southern portion of the state. Sunday is cooler as winds shift northwest, but expect more sunshine and highs near 60 degrees. We start off next week mild with mid-60s on Monday and Tuesday, but showers and perhaps a few thunderstorms return Tuesday into Wednesday.
