Former Senator Dies at Age 82

Arlen Specter, a former U.S. Senator, died at his Philadelphia home from complications of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma at the age of 82.The five-time Senator, and well-known Republican, is known for shocking both parties on Captiol Hill when he switched to Democrat in 2009.Specter’s battle with cancer includes having a brain tumor removed, and undergoing chemotherapy in 2005 and again in 2008.
