Man Arrested for Assault

A Jefferson City man was arrested after he allegedly held his granddaughter and great-grandchildren at gunpoint.According to police, 63-year-old Norman E. Gorris pointed a pistol at the victim and two of her children after a dispute on Thursday, October 11th. Cops say Gorris and the victim had an argument over a clogged shower drain and when the victim tried to leave, Gorris cornered her and the children in a bedroom corner. Gorris apparently fired the gun during the argument as well. Officers searched the home in the 7000 block of Bode Ferry Road and found a small hole in the ceiling of a hallway. Cops then found a .45 caliber pistol under a pillow on Gorris’ bed.Cole County deputies say this is the third time deputies have been called to the residence for complaints against Gorris.Gorris has been charged with second degree domestic assault and armed criminal action.
