Cops Arrest Burglary Suspect

Columbia police say they have arrested a man in connection with a burglary at a convenience store in the city on Monday.Cops say 22-year-old Alexander Watson broke into the Tiger Stop Convenience Store on Clark Lane just after 1 a.m. Monday. Surveillance video captured Watson breaking the glass on a door, entering the store, and stealing several bottles of alcohol.According to police, Watson was recently fired from the store and fit the description of the burglary suspect.Wednesday night, Watson voluntarily talked to the Columbia Police Department and admitted to the crime. Officers recovered two remaining bottles of alcohol, the car jack used to break the glass door and clothing worn during the burglary.Watson was arrested for second degree burglary with a bond of $4,500.
