Rep. Akin Makes Stop in Moberly
Rep. Todd Akin made a campaign stop in Moberly to talk with supporters about why he will win the election.Akin told ABC 17 News he will be able to win if voters focus on the candidates’ different voting records. He says he and Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill are complete opposites in the fact he voted against the 15 percent cut in social security while McCaskill voted for it and he voted against taking $716 billion out of Medicare and McCaskill voted for it.”The stimulus bill which was a flop,” said Rep. Akin. “I voted against it, she voted for it. Obamacare, I voted to repeal it 30 times. She voted for it.”In addition to discussing what needs to be done to win, Akin addressed the importance of the Republican Party getting this Senate seat in Missouri.”If the Democrats run the Senate, all they’re going to do is basically leave Obamacare in place and they’re not going to pass a budget,” said Akin. “They haven’t passed a budget in 1,200 days.”Akin talked to about 100 supporters at the event for the Randolph County Pachyderm Club. Akin’s campaign says Tuesday night’s stop is one of many before the election. The representative will head to Hannibal and Jefferson County on Wednesday.
