Cops Searching for Kidnapper

Columbia police are looking for a man connected to a kidnapping attempt in August.Officers are searching for 23-year-old Alex T. Williams, who they believe tried to kidnap a Jimmy John’s delivery driver. Police say Williams used an electronic stunning device on the victim, who was delivering a sandwich to an apartment at Kelly’s Ridge apartment complex, located at 3601 West Broadway.Williams allegedly tied up the victim and forced him into his own vehicle. The victim was able to free one of his hands and then jumped out of the car. Police say Williams stole the vehicle, which was later found abandoned.A felony warrant for kidnapping and tampering with a motor vehicle has been issued for Williams with a bond amount of $50,000.Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 573-875-TIPS.
