Shooter Remains on the Loose

A man wanted in connection with a Columbia shooting remains on the loose.27-year-old Christopher Dwayne Brown is wanted for a shooting in September on North Gregory Drive. On September 21st, Brown allegedly shot three people when he opened fire on a group. Ever since, he has been on the run.Detectives believe Brown is currently in Kansas City or in Oklahoma, but he may make trips back to the Columbia area. The Boone County Sheriff’s Department is asking for everyone to keep an eye out for him.When asked if Brown should be considered dangers, Det. Tom O’Sullivan said, “Well absolutely. As I said, he indiscriminately fired into a crowd of people shooting three people.”O’Sullivan says two known addresses for Brown include Aztec Boulevard and South Bethel Church Road. Brown is a felon and not allowed to possess a firearm. He has multiple warrants out for his arrest, including drug use, assault and for being a parole absconder.”I have no doubt that we will eventually find him,” said O’Sullivan. “Hopefully sooner than later. We don’t want anyone else to get hurt.”Two days ago, an accomplice of Brown pleaded guilty to participating in the shooting. Sierra Smith is accused of being the brains behind the operation.Anyone with information about Brown’s whereabouts is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 573-875-TIPS.
