ADM Gives $1 Million to MU

In the coming months, the University of Missouri will start new construction. One of the world’s largest agriculture companies announced Friday, a $1 million donation to the university. Archer Daniels Midland company is funding renovation and expansion of classrooms and labs. University leaders say this gift will help them give students more of a real world atmosphere and training. They say they did not have enough space for what the Agriculture School is doing right now. They believe this gift will help them develop new food sources. Michael D’Ambrose, on behalf of ADM said, “we focus on the innovations, investments, and partnerships required to expand agriculture productivity, capacity, and make better use of crops grown today.” University leaders could not detail specifics of when the renovations will begin, but said it will start within the next few months. The projects should be completed by the spring of 2014. The new space will be used for projects including the fermentation of plants.
