Rescue Team Deployed

***UPDATE 9 P.M.***Missouri Task Force 1 has been deployed to the East Coast to assist with rescue efforts. The team has four hours to prepare and then deploy to Herndon, Virginia. Once they reach Virginia, they will be told where to travel to next.The team is one of 28 groups nationwide that is highly trained in urban search and rescue.***ORIGINAL STORY***Missouri Task Force -1 is on alert, ready to assist with rescue efforts in the aftermath of Sandy. This is a full federal alert. Along with the Missouri team, they are on stand-by with Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee.They are being told to roster a full team of 80 people. Three semi trucks are loaded with equipment. If they do get an activation call, they must be on the road within four hours of the call.The last federal activation was in Hurricane Ike in 2008. They have had partial task force deployments and state assests call since that time, notably during the Joplin and Ft. Leonard Wood tornadoes.
