Cooper County starts booster vaccines at Isle of Capri

BOONVILLE, Mo. (KMIZ)

After more than 2,000 doses were given out during the first two-day clinic in Boonville, people can now return for their second dose starting Monday.

The second two-day clinic is set to begin at 9 a.m. Monday morning and run until 3 p.m.

In total, 2,454 vaccinations were given out within 23 clinic hours in the beginning of the month, leaving hundreds of doses leftover.

The remaining doses were administered through the Cooper County Health Department later in the week.

People in all tiers of Phase 1A and Phase 1B are currently eligible for the vaccine in Missouri.

Last week Gov. Mike Parson announced Missourians in Phase 2 of the state vaccination plan will become coronavirus vaccine-eligible on March 29, while Missourians in Phase 3, which includes all state residents, will be activated to receive a vaccine on April 9.

So far, 1,344,494 Missourians have received at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine, according to the states vaccination dashboard.

Those looking to get a vaccine have to register through the Missouri COVID-19 Vaccine Navigator
