Task Force 1 Headed Home
Missouri Task Force 1 has been released from its duties in the Northeast and will be headed back to Mid-Missouri.The group had been stationed in New York and New Jersey during the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. According to a spokesman, crews covered some 34 miles of streets, searching over 4,000 homes and making contact with over 3,500 people.The team is scheduled to arrive back at Boone County Fire Protection District headquarters Wednesday afternoon.The task force is a group of highly-trained members specialized in urban search and rescue missions.
