Columbia Linemen Head to NJ

Electric crews from Columbia have moved to New Jersey in order to help restore power after Hurricane Sandy.Twelve Columbia Water & Light linemen had traveled to Ohio to reinstall lines knocked down by the hurricane. Those volunteers have now moved to Pennsylvania and New Jersey to work on electrical problems in the area due to the storm and recent nor’easter.According to Water & Light officials, the crews are replacing broken poles and power lines. The linemen say 80,000 additional customers had lost power due to the snow and winds from the nor’easter and that could be working in the region for three more weeks.
