COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Boone County Prosecutor filed a superceding indictment Friday for a Columbia man facing a murder charge.

Andrew Scott Lucas was indicted on an upgraded first-degree murder charge after initially being arrested and charged with second-degree murder back in December.

Lucas was arrested and charged in December after police said he shot and killed his ex-wife, Robyn Lucas. Officers found Andrew Lucas with a gunshot wound to his abdomen after being called to the home in the 1900 block of Juniper Court. Robyn Lucas was pronounced dead at the scene from a gunshot wound.

Andrew Lucas told police an intruder in all black broke into his home and shot him, according to a probable cause statement.

The hearing is set for April 12 at 8:30 a.m. in the Boone County Courthouse.
