Officials Present Route Z Plans

Columbia’s newest high school is set to open in nine months, however its location poses big transportation problems.The roads and bridges leading to Battle High School are outdated according to transportation officials.Boone County and Missouri Department of Transportation officials are working to solves those issues with new road and bridge designs.At a meeting Wednesday afternoon, preliminary designs for changes to Route Z were presented to the public.The Route Z project will have three major components:-Resurfacing the road and adding shoulders from I-70 to St. Charles Road-Building a roundabout at the intersection of Route Z and St. Charles Road-Replacing the Route Z bridge over I-70
