Police Chief Guilty of DWI

Stover’s police chief pleaded guilty Thursday to a misdemeanor driving while intoxicated charge.Trampus Jackson pleaded guilty in Morgan County Circuit Court. The judge sentenced Jackson to 90 days in jail, but suspended the sentence and placed Jackson on supervised probation for two years.Morgan County dispatchers confirm that Jackson will be back at his job on Friday morning.Jackson was accused of crashing his car last year into another vehicle driven by a pregnant woman. Prosecutors say Jackson was drunk at the time of the accident.
