Highway 63 Reopens After Wreck

***UPDATE 3:30 P.M.***U.S. 63 has started to reopen after a two-car extrication crash closed the northbound lanes Sunday afternoon. An ABC 17 News crew at the scene reports six people were involved in the crash, four transported to a local hospital for their injuries. The crash happened just after 2 p.m. near Hinton Road and the highway was closed for nearly one hour.Deputies said Sunday a large Ford truck, carrying two ATVs on a trailer, made contact with a sedan going north. That sedan had been crossing the highway on Hinton Road. The truck dragged the sedan several hundred feet along the highway. Boone County fire crews removed two people from the sedan and the Staff for Life helicopter was called to the scene.Around 3 p.m., one northbound lane reopened, but traffic remained slow and backed up through the area.Highway Patrol troopers told ABC 17 News the crash likely wasn’t the result of heavy holiday traffic, but more from irresponsible driving by person behind the wheel of the sedan.
