School Evacuated for Bomb Threat

***UPDATE 3 P.M.***According to Camdenton police, officers received a call around 11:35 a.m. stating there was a bomb at the high school that would detonate at 12 p.m. Officers say an alleged student’s father called police, saying he received a text message from the student.The school was evacuated and students and staff were sent to Oakridge High School or the middle school.Investigators say the phone number provided was not a valid number. School officials say there is no record of the student or parent in their system either.Camdenton police, the Camden County Sheriff’s Office and the Missouri State Highway Patrol searched the building with a bomb dog and found nothing suspicious.After the building was cleared, students were allowed to return to the school this afternoon.Police say they will continue to investigate the source of the phone call.***ORIGINAL STORY***Police are investigating a bomb threat at Camdenton High School.Officers say a student’s father called police this morning, saying he received a text message from a student. The message read a bomb would go off at the high school at noon.The school district evacuated students this afternoon.
