Cops Search for Purse-Snatcher

***UPDATE WEDNESDAY 1 P.M.***Officers say the 67-year-old female victim was getting out of her car when the male suspect approached her from behind and demanded her purse.The suspect then fled from the scene on foot with the victim’s purse. A K-9 team was called to the scene but the dogs were unable to track the suspect successfully.Police say the suspect did not show or imply he had a weapon and the victim was not injured. The case is ongoing but there is no suspect description.***ORIGINAL STORY***Columbia police are at the scene of a robbery near the intersection of Rollins and Fairview around 9:45 p.m. Tuesday. A Boone County K-9 unit had been called to the scene to search for the suspect.Officers tell ABC 17 News a man approached a woman in an apartment parking lot and grabbed her purse. He ran away from the scene.Police said the man wasn’t armed and didn’t hurt the woman in the course of the robbery.ABC 17 News has a crew at the scene and will update this story overnight.
